Cardinal Place Retirement Home Remains COVID Free

CBC Windsor News at 6 reported on the 24 January 2022 that 3 out of 5 long-term care homes in Ontario are experiencing COVID19 outbreaks.  In the Windsor-Essex region, things are worse with a slightly higher rate.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Place Retirement Home remains COVID free and has never had an outbreak.

The owner, Mike Cardinal, explains the measures taken at Cardinal Place in order to keep the COVID virus out, including:

  • Paying for its own Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to come in instead of government employees who were visitng multiple Residences.
  • Providing all the right Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) whenever possible.
  • Performing screening and rapid testing before allowing entry
  • Maintaining the mindset of staff, members and their families to protect our elders.
